This book narrates the experiences of Vasily Reshetnikov and his comrades who flew the IL-4 bombers from the beginning of the German invasion of Russia to the final defeat in the rubble of Berlin.

The book concludes with a brief section on the Soviet bomber forces during the Cold War period when the Tupolev T-95 turboprop heavy bomber came into service.

An informative book for anyone who is interested in having a first hand account of the Soviet bomber force.
